Thermoplastic Products

Lingol Corporation manufactures Continuous Fiber Reinforced, (CFR), Composite Laminates and Prepreg. Unique equipment and processing technology allows us to tailor properties for our customers to achieve specialized thermoplastic materials. We offer multi- axial layup, ( 0°, 90°, +/-45° ), Specific resin content/fiber volume selection, Specialized surface features and the ability to use reinforcement combinations by layer/ply. Our High Pressure processing offers products of Optimum Density with Very Low Void Content.

Prepreg

Individual layers of a reinforcement are saturated with thermoplastic resin to make sheets or rolls in widths to 24”. Resin content can be to your specification. These materials can be used for:

Laminates

Multiple Layers of fiber reinforcement are saturated with thermoplastic resin and compressed to form a composite sheet of desired appearance, thickness and performance characteristics.

Composite Design

Resin Selection

Lingol Corporation can provide Composite Laminates and Prepreg with most Thermoplastic resins
Some resins can be blended in laminates to achieve unique characteristics.

Reinforcement Selection

We can use carbon, fiberglass and other reinforcement fibers and materials in a single laminate design for cosmetic, performance and cost advantages.
Woven, uni-directional, non-woven and other reinforcements forms can be blended in thermoplastic sheets for cosmetic and performance benefits such as dimensional stability.

Laminate Directionality

Uni-directional: Some or all fibers oriented in one direction to achieve specific performance
Balanced: Fibers in equal orientation at 0° and 90° for specific properties.
Quasi-isotropic: Fiber orientation to develop similar properties in all directions.

Applications

Continuous Fiber Reinforced (CFR) Thermoplastic Composites have superior properties to conventional performance materials for automotive, aerospace, industrial, medical and recreational applications. Higher heat resistance, low smoke and toxicity, toughness, Impact resistance, good flexural strength, stiffness and dimensional stability make them good replacement materials for steel, aluminum and epoxy based composites. Typical applications are: Pump and Compressor Vanes, Rub Rails and Wear Strips, Coating and Scraping Blades, Robotics, Skis and Snowboards, Medical Products, X-Ray Tables and Components, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Bushings and Bearings.
